Hidden Gemz

A groundbreaking travel app, Hidden Gemz redefines exploration by blending curated local insights with an engaging gamified experience. By taking the path less traveled, users are able connect with friends to discover local hidden gems while they are exploring the world and support small businesses along the way. Our group (Emily Ulfig, Kaci Kopf, Martha Vaughan) designed this app; I primarily worked on developing the wireframes and market research.

Conducting thorough market research revealed the need for a travel app that promotes discovering hidden gems and local businesses and communities. From this, we were able to create a moodboard, user flow, wireframes, a brand identity.

User Testing & Refinements

We then moved onto concept testing where we gained user feedback for our wireframes and first redesign. Feedback on components such as our color palette and icons provided us insight that led to our finalized version.

Refinements included tweaking our UX writing and adding a ‘Shop’ section to create incentive for collecting gems. We also redesigned the dashboard to be more user-friendly and interactive.
